Slow on updates lately…but what I have been doing lately is eating things with bacon in it. Brown Sugar with candied bacon bits ice cream and snicker doodle sangwich and a bacon waffle. Pretty into it.

Had one of the best bike rides in a while this past weekend. Brett, who has been working at Wins Wheels for the past three years and was now going off to college. They decided to turn their normal Saturday shop ride into something different and Win invited Dave Zabriskie, one of the most famous pro US cyclist, out for the ride. He came and it was a huge surprise to Brett. A lot of people showed up from word of mouth, but it didn’t get to hectic. DZ walked in and walked straight to a corner where Dan and John were standing, and pointed to our Chain Gang bike jerseys and said “I like this, where can I get one?” So awesome!! He then walked around and took pictures with the other people there and we rolled out and headed towards rockstore. He was cruising up rockstore and dropped everyone like they all had weights on, I managed to hang on for the longest and got third up. A lot of people regrouped and we had to keep riding, going a different route then planned, but the group of 8 that managed to hang with DZ was just going to ride wherever he was going. Ended up going down to PCH and heading up Yerba Buena, a long bumpy climb back home. Everyone fell back trying to keep with DZs pace accept me, so we chatted the whole way up. Luckily he had to make a few pit stops and I could get a breather, but it was so awesome just riding next to one of my favorite pro cyclists and chatting about whatever came to mind. We all regrouped 3/4 of the way home for a water refill and cruised on back to the shop. DZ is moving to the Conejo Valley, so I was pointing out different places people go mountain biking because he was way into, and the sprint points we had around town. Got back to the shop and just talked shop for a while until everyone was leaving. DZ was saying his goodbyes and when he got to me said “See you around neighbor” since he is moving pretty much down the street. Hopefully we can get some more rides in with him, because it is awesome and he is a super funny guy. All in all, one of my top bike rides of all time, and maybe some better ones to come soon!

Got some more, a few from a different country that I visited while over in Europe. Short trip there just made me want more.

Found an image I liked while looking through a library of images from Japan. O how I wish I was eating some of those noodles he is working on.

Finally getting around to scanning my Hasselblad images from Germany. I am liking a lot of them. Can’t wait to work on em all. Here are some I have gone through.

They happen, sometimes on purpose, sometimes you know about it, and sometimes your film breaks off the roll and won’t wind all the way back in so you have to manually try and wind it back in a leather jacket. They can ruin good shots, but I got some from some recent rolls that I don’t mind, it adds to them and I like it.

After the month shut down of night riding at the velodrome, it is coming back in full force. There will a new class starting at the start of August. Kieron has all the info here so if you want in read up and sign up. Can’t wait! Some of the best times I have at the track are on Wednesday nights that’s for sure. Here are some pictures I took a few weeks back from Wednesday night.

Back from Montana, trip went by really fast. Weather was pretty lousy when we left. The day before there was a thunder storm and downpour happening for a few hrs while we cleaned the boat and put it away. We made the drive back in 20hrs flat this time, with just a few stops for food and gas. Made it back as the sun was rising, always good/tiring to see. Got some film I need to get processed, will post whenever I get that up.

Made the journey out to Whitefish, Montana again this year. The drive up was really easy and fast. We just did a straight shot with no stopping but for gas/food. Got up here and went straight to the river to jump off the bridge into frigid waters, but it woke us right up. Picked up Matt from the airport who came directly from Berlin into the mother land of Montana. Next day went for an awesome bike ride out around the lake and back and then onto the boat for some boating action. Weather is pretty great here, can’t ask for much more. Much more adventuring to go on, as of now there has been tons of fun.
